Why us / patient safety.
Laser Clinic Sar originated in Galicia under Clinica Fisioterapia Sar where we have clinics in Cee and Santiago. The company is delighted to announce our ongoing expansion into Southern Spain and Gibraltar.
At Laser Clinic Sar, we use a diode laser NOT the cheaper IPL systems. We offer laser hair removal with the Lumenis Lightsheer ET™ . This laser hair removal system is state of the art in the industry. Investigate yourself and you will see that we carry the best technology available today. The Lightsheer ET™ is a diode laser which we use for skin types I through IV.
It is worth noting that many clinics claim to offer laser hair removal when they are actually using the inferior IPL (intense pulsed light) machine. IPL has a broader light spectrum so is far less precise at targeting hairs than lasers. Please click here for more information on the differences between diode laser and IPL hair removal systems.
We are very clear that success in this industry is largely determined by exceptional ethics and referrals from delighted friends! We take safety of our patients extremely seriously. We patch test all clients before treatment, we never treat clients on contraindicated medication such as Isotretinoin, clients with skin particularly sensitive to light or skin that has any infection around the place to be treated.
We issue all clients with some simple patient guidelines that ensure skin is suitable for treatment. For example, it is very important that any exposure to UV light (tanning beds or direct sunshine) is minimal two weeks either side of treatment.
Laser Therapy is a very established technology and as long as your clinic follows some simple protocols, the treatment is very safe and straightforward. Just pop in for a free patch test to see what the laser looks like, how it feels on your skin and discuss any other questions on you may have on this.

Laser Hair Removal Procedure
Once we have decided that you are a good candidate for laser hair removal, we would proceed with the treatment by asking you to ensure that all surface body hair has been shaved around 5 days prior to treatment. Should any significant hair be left on the surface, the laser would target the hair at the surface as oppose to the root of the hair which would defeat the purpose of the treatment. We can help you with shaving at the clinic for areas that are hard to reach if needed.
Assuming there is a nice contrast between the skin and the hair, the laser will target the root of the hair leaving behind a stem. Over the course of 2 to 3 weeks post treatment, many of the hairs will appear as if they are growing which is actually the skin naturally pushing this stem up and out. If you were to pull at these hairs 2 to 3 weeks post treatment many of these hairs would simply fall out with no resistance at all. Once many of these hairs fall out, most clients appreciate that there is little hair in between treatments which is nice. Treatment intervals are typically 4 to 6 weeks for the face and 6 to 8 weeks for the body. 6 to 8 sessions are required for very best results.
The laser feels like a small pinch. Post treatment, the skin will be slightly sensitive. Although this tends to subside fairly quickly, we do recommend avoiding any hot water, exercise and friction to the area.
